Everyone wants to be more productive, and it seems an incredible amount of people struggle with being efficient and organized in their daily productivity. There are a lot of productivity tools available, but how do you make the most of them and actually put them into practice?

Author Maura Nevel Thomas outlines her Empowered Productivity System in her book PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY SECRETS. Thomas suggests that many productivity systems fail because people are exhausting themselves trying to manage their time. She suggests that people should be managing around their attention instead. The Empowered Productivity System is about getting people take control over their own lives by taking control of their attention. We devote ourselves to the things that grab our attention. Thomas wants people to learn to focus their attention on the tasks that will allow them to be the most productive. The rest of the book goes into strategies for managing to-do lists, email, using technology to aid rather than distract productivity, and much more.

The book is insightful and helpful in getting more organizing and more focused on the things that will help people become efficient in their productivity. The layout is very user-friendly, and I'm already putting some of the insights in the book to use in my own productivity.
